STEPHEN Reid's past comes right back to haunt him next week as his wife makes an appearance in Weatherfield next week.
Coronation Street bosses have cast Hollywood star Helene Maksoud but this won't be her first stint in the cobbles.
The Batman and Hellboy actress will be taking on the role of Gabrielle Reid who is set to confront her estranged husband Stephen (portrayed by Canadian actor Todd Boyce).
Scheming businessman Stephen will be seething as another proof of his financial struggles will come to light next week – Gabrielle will be demanding back a whopping sum of money that he could have stolen from her.
Evidently unwilling to compromise, Gabrielle will also be threatening police action if Stephen doesn't comply.
The pair are thought to have been romantically involved since the nineties but Gabrielle, who will join the Manchester-based program on a temporary basis, has never been introduced to ITV.

But while that may be the case, the Beirut-born beauty has definitely already made her way to the Street in the past.
In 2019, and before she was given the chance to appear in TV shows in the likes of Shetland, Bridgerton or Industry, Helene rocked up Coronation Street in a different role.
Helene Maksoud made her cobbles debut as the wife of another unlawful schemer, May Radfield in January, 2019.
May was the supposed dead wife of conman Duncan Layfield who managed to have Sally Webster thrown in prison after he set her up for his own scams within the council offices.

One year before these events, May and Duncan got involved in a fraud that would have them pretending she had passed away from a stroke and she believed that the extent of the fraud would be a false life insurance claim.
However, Duncan took matters into his own hands in Weatherfield by asking Sally for help to get a grant of the sum of £40,000 for a charity he supposedly wanted to set up in May's name.
While Sally suffered the consequences after she was made out to be the guiltier of the two parties, May arrived in Weatherfield and Sophie Webster bumped into her.
But the truth only caught up with May when Sally's sister Gina Seddon approached her and told her all about Duncan's actions.

May had been unaware of how far her husband had gone and, reeling from these revelations, she pushed him to confess while Tim Metcalfe and Sophie applied for Sally's release.
Although her upcoming stint in Coronation Street is likely to last a while as Stephen Reid continues to try and take advantage of Weatherfield residents, Helen's first appearance in the ITV soap only lasted a handful of episodes.
