Coronation Street's Norris Cole star makes epic return to TV three years on from quitting ITV soap | The Sun

CORONATION Street's Norris Cole star, Malcolm Hebden has made a huge come back to TV screens three years after quitting the ITV soap.

As the daytime serial celebrates Rita Tanner actor Barbara Knox's 90th birthday, the legendary actor will make a surprise appearance.

Malcolm, played Norris Cole on the soap from 1994, then left the role in 1997 before returning in December 1999.

But in 2020 he left for good due to health issues.

Since then he has kept himself private and is rarely seen in public.

But because he adores Barbara he agreed to film this special to celebrate her.

In the documentary, he admitted that he misses working on Coronation Street and opens up about his life off-screen.

"I miss work. This is a day out for me," Malcolm said.

For more than two decades, Malcolm and Barbara have worked closely together on the soap.

"We had an awful lot of good laughs on set and off. I couldn’t have worked with anybody better," Malcolm shared.
