Coronation Street fans were forced to do a double-take as one child actor appeared alongside his co-star dad.

Jude Riordan has played Sam Blakeman, son to Nick Tilsley and Natasha Blakeman, since 2020 – and in that time has handled plenty of tough storylines, including the death of his character’s mum.

Currently, Sam is embroiled in a tragic plot involving his mum’s killer Harvey, visiting the cold-hearted villain in prison and forcing him to confront what he’s done.

But in his real life, Jude has been celebrating his first episode of Corrie with his famous co-star father.

Paul Riordan is known for directing plenty of soap episodes including Hollyoaks, Casualty and Emmerdale, as well as working behind-the-scenes on the famous cobbles.

And a post shared to Jude’s Instagram account showed the young lad with his arms around his lookalike dad on set of the Manchester-based soap.

Jude captioned his snap: “When you haven’t been well but can’t miss your first Corrie scene directed by yer Dad @paulrio27.”

Another snap showed Paul and Jude on the set of Nick (Ben Price) and Leanne’s (Jane Danson) flat, with Jude as Sam in his school uniform on the sofa while the adults lingered around the kitchen.

Paul could be seen in a denim shirt appearing to give them directions, with an official ITV lanyard worn around his neck.

Jude added the hashtags #My2Dads and #BenAlwaysHasHisEyesClosed.

Fans rushed to the comments section to give their opinions on the sweet post, with one writing: “Omg love this!”

Another fan was taken aback by the incredible likeness between Paul and Nick star Ben as they wrote: “Your dad is the double of your Corrie dad… wow.”

A fourth agreed: “He looks like Nick’s brother!”

As another social media user gushed: “Great job Jude. Love watching you act, you’re such a gifted young actor!”
