Two Coronation Street favourites have reunited and it’s all too adorable for words.

Katherine Kelly, 43, played the iconic Becky McDonald in the much-loved ITV soap from 2006 until 2012.

Of course, one of the best things about her character was her friendship with Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, 73, who is part of Corrie’s furniture, having been a regular since 1995.

Their on-screen bond provided countless memorable moments, whether it was Roy and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) saving Becky after one of her many scrapes, or Becky turning to ‘Royston’ for advice on her marriage woes with Steve (Simon Gregson).

But, it’s been ages since Katherine and David were together, which is why hearts everywhere melted when they finally had a reunion in 2023.

Sharing the cutest snap to social media, Katherine posed for a smiley selfie with the cobbles’ legend.

‘Well look who I caught up with today…’, she captioned the post.

‘Still one of my favourite human beings EVER.’

Naturally, her followers were living for the moment, with one singing their praises by commenting: ‘I just don’t think it’s appreciated enough just how underrated you two were as a comedy double-act. Exquisite time, pathos, and an obvious deep love for each other. Immaculate performances from both of you for years. Thank you x’

Another penned: ‘that’s serious nostalgia right there….becky and roy were the best team ever ❤️’

‘We NEED Becky and Royston reunited on the street ❤️❤️❤️’, another commented and, honestly? We agree.

Suranne Jones also commented a series of love heart emoji, proving she still has a lot of love for her Corrie roots, having played Karen McDonald from 2000 until 2004.

Becky had a wealth of hard-hitting storylines while appearing in Coronation Street and there was never a shortage of drama, whether it be with romance or sibling rivalry.

Her most memorable moments include when she and Steve bought sister Kylie’s son Max for £20,000, her two miscarriages, and rocking up to her own wedding drunk.

Since departing from the long-running show, Katherine has remained a regular on our screens.

She’s starred in series including Cheat, Innocent, Criminal: UK, Liar, and Gentleman Jack.

Meanwhile, David, aka Roy, and his shopping bag are still permanent fixtures on the street, with just a three-month break in 2016.
