One of the most anticipated events on a soap fan’s calendar is almost upon us. Yes, that’s right, we are talking about Super Soap Week!
Both of ITV’s serial dramas go large in what can only be described as an unmissable week, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale serving up offerings that will no doubt live in viewers’ minds forever.
Stephen Reid’s sins catch up with him at last, with numerous cobbles residents working out what the killer is up to, but will he be stopped before more blood is shed?
Emmerdale, meanwhile, sees the long-running love triangle story reach a dramatic peak – quite literally – with Chloe Harris’ revenge plot seriously backfiring, leaving she, Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd’s lives on the line in a cliffside crash.
Over in EastEnders, Callum Highway makes quite the discovery about Jay and, speaking of discoveries, Neighbours’ Jane Harris is still reeling after what she found out about Terese Willis.
And as for Hollyoaks? Well, there’s serious health concerns on the cards, with Yazz Maalik taken to hospital.

EastEnders
1. Jay wakes up at Nadine’s, horrified to see a bag of ketamine on the table. Nadine says that it helps her cope, telling Jay that it could do the same for him. Callum, meanwhile, confronts Jay, who explains that he stays over at Nadine’s to sleep, but later he scores some ketamine from Nadine, with Callum subsequently working out the truth.
2. Despite her misgivings, Sharon allows Keanu to look after Albi while she goes out with Dorian, who insists that she move to Abu Dhabi for a new job. Keanu, however, later takes Albi out without running it by Sharon, who threatens to call the police if he doesn’t return at once. Keanu arrives back in time, with a big row ensuing.
3. Sharon insists that she and Keanu need a third-party arbitrator to discuss Albie’s childcare arrangements. With Karen by his side, Keanu meets with Sharon and her solicitor, with the former Queen Vic landlady dropping a major bombshell, leaving Karen with a plan up her sleeve.
4. The police find Nugget’s mobile by the canal and inform Ravi of their plans to dredge the water to look for clues, leaving the concerned dad devastated. Suki secretly phones Nugget and asks him to let Ravi know he’s alive, with Nugget subsequently doing just that. His loved ones later hold a vigil, hoping for him to return home safe.
5. Kathy questions Rocky as to why his share of the loan repayment isn’t in her account. The former con-man lies, claiming Jay forgot to do his wages as he secretly heads off to the bookies to try and win the money.
6. Harvey grows concerned for Rocky, who returns to the bookies to place more bets. Dorian, meanwhile, suggests that Rocky bet on the boxing night, assuring him that he’ll make serious cash. George gives Rocky a tip.
Coronation Street
7. Stephen plots his escape from the cobbles, unaware that the residents of the eponymous street have started to put two and two together, realising they’ve got a murderer in their midst.
8. Carla find a one way ticket to Thailand in the office printer and uses it to convince DS Swain that Stephen is a flight risk. Swain urges Carla to keep shtum but, unable to do so, the factory owner warns Jenny of her suspicions that Stephen is a murderer.
9. Tim gets wind of Stephen’s interest in the canal dredging project and swoops into action as he heads to the canal towpath, where he finds a corpse’s hand floating to the surface. Fleeing to his cab, he reports the dead body, but Stephen kills the call and proceeds to strangle him with a tie before knocking him unconscious and bundling his body into the boot of a car, which he douses with petrol.
10. The rooftop box is subsequently recovered from the canal, with Craig and DS Swain shuddering at the sight of human remains.
11. Audrey is horrified when Sarah reveals that Stephen defrauded her and drugged Carla. Stephen, meanwhile, is attacked by Peter, but Audrey arrives, leaving the killer relieved – that is, until Audrey accuses him of stealing her house!
12. The net closes in on Stephen, who races to the airport, with DS Swain giving chase, but will the residents of the Street be able to stop the killer from absconding before it’s too late?
Emmerdale
13. Mackenzie prepares to leave for a holiday to Scotland, unaware that Chloe overheard his and Charity’s conversation the previous week. After a chat with Tracy, who was able to forgive Nate’s cheating, Chloe resolves to forgive Mack, but she later she spots her beau kissing Charity on the forehead and giving her a tender goodbye hug. Chloe feigns ignorance once again but, once she’s left alone, her smile to turns to a look of pure hatred.
14. Mack is blissfully unaware of Chloe’s state of mind as they set off on their adventure. Charity, meanwhile, breaks down on the side of the road, with Chloe growing mischievous upon spotting her, encouraging her love rival to get in the car for a lift. Chloe, however, misses the turn and, with cruel intentions in mind, she plots to abandon Mack and Charity in the moors.
15. Charity grows concerned and, fed up of manipulative Chloe’s efforts to push her buttons, demands that she pull over. Mackenzie fears fireworks between the two but, in shocking scenes, a car smashes into theirs! Mack comes to, horrified by the sight before him, with the vehicle suspended on the edge of a cliff. Charity regains consciousness, as does Chloe, and the pair panic, forced to put their faith in Mack, who is forced to choose who he will save first, but just who will he pick?
16. Chas is oblivious to the danger that she’s in with newcomer Harry, who she believes is called Simon. Caleb and Cain, however, get wind of the fact that their sister has gone out with him and therefore race to the rescue. The penny drops for Chas as Harry becomes angry, but will she be okay?
17. Suni struggles to process the truth about Jai’s admission that they’re brothers.
Hollyoaks
18. James desperately tries to prove Romeo’s innocence in the matter of Rayne’s murder, but it proves difficult when more videos of Rayne surface online, painting him as the perfect suspect. The lawyer makes it his mission to get Brent to confess and he succeeds, but only after Brent has been attacked in prison. Just how far has James gone?
19. Lacey continues to struggle and Nadira encourages her girlfriend to move on, but animosity soon ensues between the lovers. After time to cool off, Lacey brings Nadira flowers and apologises for her behaviour. But after discussions about a new job, Lacey leaves the village.
20. Dave lies to everyone he loves as his behaviour spirals out of control, with Ethan coming to realise that his brother has turned to drugs once more. Later in the week, tensions simmer between Dave and Cindy, but will Cindy find out what’s really going on with Dave?
21. Yazz’s health deteriorates, with Misbah growing concerned and rushing her daughter to hospital.
Neighbours
22. Jane reels following the revelation that Terese’s development is potentially going to put Erinsborough High’s future in danger. The head teacher’s friendship with Terese is also put in jeopardy, with the two pals baffled about how they’ll ever be able to move past this.
23. Paul makes a calculated move which has truly explosive consequences at Lassiters.
