Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney stunned in a group snap as she made an announcement regarding the ITV soap.

The actress stood alongside her co-stars Channique Sterling-Brown, Harriet Bibby, and James Craven in the selfie taken on the streets of the Corrie set.

The soap stars were all smiles as they posed for the snap on the cobbles, with the Amy Barlow actress sporting a cosy jumper and fluffy hat.

Harriet, who plays Summer Spellman, donned a fluffy black coat layered above a high-neck orange jumper, while Dee-Dee Bailey actress Channique oozed winter chic in a black roll neck and bright pink coat.

While Aaron Sandford actor James kept things casual with a zip neck jumper and green jacket for the snap with his on-screen girlfriend and their pals.

Elle, who has played the role of Amy since 2010, made the exciting announcement that the Weatherfield Precinct is open for business.

She captioned the snap: "and just like that… the Weatherfield Precinct is OPEN #Corrie #WeatherfieldPrecinct."

The impressive two storey construction officially launched on Friday (December 1), with many of the cast members declaring it open for business.

The new exterior set took nine months to pull together and features an impressive array of new features including maisonettes, a staircase and balcony leading to the properties, and a piazza.

Speaking about the new addition to the set, Corrie producer Iain MacLeod said: “Hats off to our design and construction teams who have conjured a totally convincing new precinct for our drama.

"They took their inspiration from Salford’s many real-world, late 20th century shopping areas and what they have created is a brilliant, characterful space to tell a diverse range of stories.

"Expect to see teens hanging out at the dessert shop, families enjoying the play area and after dark, a rogues’ gallery, up to shady business in the ginnels.

"I am really excited by the arrival on screen of this much discussed but never seen corner of the Weatherfield universe."

The much mentioned precinct will be on screen for the first time in the new year, with the first scene being filmed next week.
