Darren Grimes joined GB News in December 2021 after it was announced that Simon McCoy was stepping away from his role. The broadcaster launched GB News in June last year and has a seen a shake-up of presenters ever since. A number of hosts have chosen to leave the channel including Simon and Andrew Neil. However, the show has also welcomed some new faces like Eamonn Holmes.

Darren has since taken to social media to claim his Real Britain show had been cancelled.

In view of his 235,000 followers, the presenter penned: “Sadly, my GB News show, Real Britain, is ending in a few weeks.

“I want to make its last few episodes on air the best of all.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who have loyally tuned in and supported me and the channel – it has been the greatest ride of my life!”

Darren’s followers were quick to reply, with many questioning why the programme had been axed.

The presenter’s colleagues also rushed to wish Darren well on his next project.

FR Calvin Robinson wrote: “You will be missed, brother.”

Christine Hamilton tweeted: “Darren I am so sorry – you will be much missed. The very best of luck with what lies ahead – you will succeed whatever.”

User @MarchersMedia said: “Sorry to hear this, I’ve enjoyed the show. Onwards and upwards.”

While Megan added: “Love you Darren, why is it ending?”

“That’s sad news, Darren, not sure why @GBNEWS have made this decision. Great things await you though,” Ian replied.

One follower went on to claim that Darren’s show was ending to make way for new presenter, John Cleese.
