David Schwimmer is just one of the many celebrities heading into the Great British Bake Off tent to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer. The Friends star was reportedly so determined to win his episode, he didn’t chat to anyone as he was “very concentrated”.
Bake Off judge Prue Leith shared David was “the most famous person we had in the tent” and was “very excited” to meet him.
“What I was surprised about, though, was I thought he’d behave like he behaved as Ross, he’d be like he was in Friends, but he was actually very concentrated and didn’t want to talk to anybody,” she shared.
“He just wanted to get on baking and he badly wanted to win.”
However, she admitted: “He loosened up after a while.”
Prue went on to explain she was “very impressed” with the Ross Geller star’s knowledge of food.
She told Daily Mirror: “I had no expectations for him at all on the food front and so I was very, very impressed.
“I think his daughter – who is a Bake Off fan and a vegan – influences him a lot.
“He turned out to be much more knowledgeable about food than I thought he would be. He was great.”
Prue’s admission comes after David opened up on why he wanted to be part of the Channel 4 show.
He explained several women close to him have fought cancer.
“I lost a grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor, so it’s important to me,” the actor detailed.
“I am just grateful I can help in any small way raise more awareness.

“I am here to have fun. I am here to raise money for a great charity. It’s a great cause and I happen to be a massive fan of the show.”
In the first episode of the series, David will compete alongside Jesy Nelson, Rose Matafeo and Tom Davis.
The quartet will be taking on French confections and recreating their most embarrassing fail in meringue.
Fans will have to wait until Sunday evening to find out if David performs as well as he hoped to.
Also competing in this year’s series are Jay Blades, Deborah Meaden, Ellie Taylor and Mike Wozniak.
Gemma Collins, Tim Key, AJ Odudu, Jessica Hynes and Paddy McGuinness also head into the tent.
Coleen Nolan, Joe Thomas, Tom Daley and David Morrissey and Lucy Beaumount will also raise awareness in the tent along with Adele Roberts.
Celebrity Great British Bake Off airs Sunday on Channel 4 from 8pm.
