Deal Or No Deal fans raise over £30k for star who told ITV host he will die soon

Deal or No Deal contestant Brad Wale has had over £30,000 raised for him after revealing his terminal health diagnosis on the ITV show.

The player, from Shropshire, left his co-stars and viewers watching at home emotional during Thursday's (November 30) episode of the rebooted series hosted by Stephen Mulhern. Brad bravely opened up about his Motor Neurone Disease (MND), which affects the motor nerves which eventually degenerate and die, making the muscles weaker and weaker, eventually leading to a paralysis.

Brad was on the show trying to raise money for his family and to achieve his bucket list goals, however he sadly walked away with just £5 after a devastating turn in the heartbreaking episode, with fans sharing their sympathy for him. However, after the episode aired, his Deal Or No Deal co-star Rochelle Hughes set up a fundraiser in a bid to help Brad achieve his goals, and it has already raked in an impressive £30,000 from kind-hearted viewers.

The GoFundMe has exceeded its £20,000 goal in just 48 hours with more than 2,500 fans donating to Brad's cause, bringing the funds up to a grand total of £31,105 and climbing – as of December 2. Viewers also left messages of support for Brad alongside their donations as they told how much his story had 'moved' them and "touched their hearts".

One wrote: "Brad really touched my heart and us all pulling together can give him funds to do his bucket list." While a another added: "Enjoy your bucket list! You are amazing, and so brave. Massive well done to you and to wonderful Rochelle for organising this. I saw the programme and was absolutely gutted when you lost the 75k. Hope this fund makes up for it. A third person wrote: "Brad, you touched the hearts of a nation this week with your story and your searing honesty…what an inspiration you are…please go on now and get some of those dreams on your list ticked off! Good luck with everything lovely man and hope we hear more from you in the future."

The description on the fundraiser, penned by Brad's friend Rochelle, read: 'I'm sure you all saw Brads devastating game on Deal or No Deal. His DOND family really want him to fulfil his dreams and we have set this up on the hope that anyone could maybe spare a couple of pounds and get Brad to tick some bits off his Bucket List. We love you Brad."

Brad managed to shed more blue boxes than red at one point of the game and more importantly, he had the massive £100,000 still to be found. He played a blinder with way more red boxes still to find than the blues and at one stage, the banker phoned with a high offer of £12,500, this was when the £75,000 box was still up for grabs.

Brad's mum advised him to play on given he'd had a good run of luck but the game took a brutal turn. After the player turned down the cash, he explained he'd had a dream of walking away with £75,000. However, that dream was shattered in the final round.

With four boxes left to open that included £75,000, £5,000, £10 and £5 it was all to play for. As the lid of the fourth box opened it was revealed to be the largest fee, leaving Brad and everyone totally gutted. Things went from bad to worse, when Brad knocked out the £5,000 box next and telling host Stephen: "This is my life. I've always had such bad luck. Nothing changes, I should have expected this."

Deal or No deal airs weekdays on ITV at 4pm
