EAST 17 star Terry Coldwell was surprised to enter a karaoke contest – only to be disqualified because he was "too authentic'.
The 90's boy band member couldn't resist picking up the microphone when he stumbled upon a street contest in Hemel Hempstead on Friday.
BBC Three Counties Radio presenter Justin Dealey asked him to "sing a banger for a banger" and the Terry, 49, obliged.
Playing the segment on his radio show on Saturday, James said: "This is what happened when we played our game.
"So I'm stood by this hotdog stall, if they sing us a banger, and it's good enough, I buy them a banger."
Terry belted out East 17's 1994 hit Stay Another Day but before he could finish, Justin kicked him out of the competition.

The newly formed group released a new single “I Just Wanna” in May last year and Terry recently collaborated with Marks & Spencer, appearing in a cameo for the store's song, “This is not just another Christmas song”.
