This Morning get first NTA nomination months after Phillip Schofield scandal

This Morning: Josie questions Phil Vickery's cooking

This Morning is up for the Best Daytime Show gong at this year’s National Television Awards which will take place on September 5.

It comes months after longtime host Phillip Schofield resigned from ITV and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague on the programme.

Holly Willoughby, who presented alongside Phillip for more than a decade, has continued to host the morning show with a rotation of co-stars.

Meanwhile, MPs have been calling on ITV chiefs to address claims of toxicity and bullying behind the scenes.

This Morning will be up against The Chase, Loose Women and The Repair Shop.

This year This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Good Morning Britain’s Martin Lewis have been nominated for the best TV presenter accolade but Holly has not been shortlisted.

They will compete against Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who took the award for the 21st year in a row at last year’s ceremony.

The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman and The Chase’s Bradley Walsh have also been nominated.

Gogglebox, The Masked Singer, Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee are nominated for best talent show.

In the drama performance category, Happy Valley stars James Norton and Sarah Lancashire will go head-to-head, competing against Vera’s Brenda Blethyn and Call the Midwife’s Judy Parfitt, as well as India Amarteifio for her role in Queen Charlotte.
