EastEnders Bernie star supported by co-stars as she announces career news

EastEnders' Bernadette Taylor star Clair Norris has been supported by her co-stars as she announces career news.

Clair, who plays the role of beloved Bernie in the BBC One soap, has hopped over to ITV to make a cameo in a new drama on the new streaming platform ITVX.

Taking to social media to share a slew of behind the scenes snaps alongside the joyous news, she was supported by some of her EastEnders co-stars.

In the first snap Clair, 24, could be seen standing outside of a dressing room van which had the name "Kerry" on the door.

The next snap was of a call sheet from the show, where Clair's name was next to Kerry's name – meaning that was the name of her character in the programme.

Next up was a snap of a wall covered in pineapple wallpaper with a pineapple-shaped neon light.

And then the fourth snap was a mirror selfie, where Clair could be seen pouting up a storm as she snapped away.

Taking to Instagram and Twitter, she penned: "Ever had a night that felt like your whole life had led up to it?"

Before adding: "Small feature of my boat race in the new drama TELL ME EVERYTHING. Out today on @itvxofficial!"

James Farrar, who portrays Sharon Mitchell's brother Zack Hudson, said: "Go on girl."

Tamzin Outhwaite, who played Mel Owen in the soap, shared a slew of clapping hands emojis in support of the star.

While Paddy Bever, who portrays Max Turner in rival soap Coronation Street, shared two partying emojis.

Tell Me Everything is a comic drama about teenage depression that follows 16-year-old Jonny, who struggles with his mental health after a tragic event.

Clair's only acting credit was in EastEnders as Bernie – a role she has had since 2017 – until her small stint as Kerry.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and Tell Me Everything can be streamed on ITVX from today.
