EastEnders fans call for character to be binned off as hes annoying and boring

EastEnders fans have called for Jack Branning to be "binned off" from the BBC One soap as he was labelled "boring" and "annoying" in the latest episodes.

Jack had long been a fan-favourite on the soap, first appearing in Walford back in 2007.

At the time, Jack, who is played by Scott Maslen, was the hunky bad boy brother of Max Branning, a complicated character who at the time was having an affair with Stacey Slater.

But over the years, Jack's preaching and self-righteous nature has become frustrating with lots of viewers, most recently causing annoyance over his treatment of Amy.

"Don't know if this an unpopular opinion or not……But Jack really annoys me!!" one person commented on Twitter. "Kicking straight off at Amy when she done nothing wrong, Ricky isn't her responsibility."

"Jack needs to chill out and listen more. He's turning into his dad," another viewer agreed.

A third fan observed: "Jack always seems angry to me, he never smiles does he?"

While a fourth person declared: "He's a waste of space and needs binning off," as another agreed that Jack "winds most people up".

Some will forever love Jack with fans defending his caring nature, while others are convinced it's time for the whole of the Branning family to be written out of the soap.

The most beloved member of the tribe was Jim Branning, played by the late John Bardon, whose character was also married to one of Albert Square's most beloved icons Dot Cotton (June Brown).

Sadly, Jim left the soap when John's health had started to deteriorate in real life and he never returned.

Jack's most memorable storyline came when he got involved with the Mitchell sisters Roxy (Rita Simons) and Ronnie (Samantha Womack).

Jack was in a relationship with Ronnie and the pair had a fiery romance on the soap, but things took a disastrous turn when the local bad boy had an affair with his girlfriend's sister Roxy.

After sleeping together, Roxy got pregnant, and while she told her beau at the time, Sean Slater, the baby was his, it later turned out to be Jack's.

Jack is the father of Amy Mitchell, but he was also part of one of the biggest death plots on the soap ever since it began – on his wedding day to Ronnie.

In dramatic scenes, the bride jumped into a swimming pool to save her sister from drowning, but in a cruel twist of fate, Ronnie couldn't stay afloat and became so entangled in her dress she ended up drowning too.
