Coronation Street's Alan Halsall reveals how he feels kissing co-star more than real life partners | The Sun

CORONATION Street's Alan Halsall has revealed all about how he feels kissing his co-star more than any of his real life partners.

The 40-year-old has played Tyrone Dobbs in Corrie since 1998 and over the years his character has had numerous relationships on the Cobbles.

But the one that has stood the test of time is Tyrone's relationship with Fiz Stape, played by Jennie McAlpine.

The couple have been on and off for years but are currently back on, with Tyrone planning a secret Christmas wedding for him and Fiz without her knowledge.

Speaking to the press recently about the storyline, Alan – who was previously married to actress Lucy-Jo Hudson from 2009 to 2018 -said: "It was interesting.

"We did an interview about a week or so ago when we got to see our very first kiss which was 21 years ago.

"So yeah, probably been kissing Jenny longer than I have anyone else in my life so yeah it's crazy.

"I think as a couple there have been so many times, very, very close but at least this time they make it."

Alan has been in a relationship with former co-star Tisha Merry since 2019, while Jennie, 38, has been married to husband Chris Farr since 2017.

She added: "I think the fresh start is hopeful. My god after everything we have been through, surely this is a nice fresh start."

Meanwhile Alan explained why Tyrone had decided to plan a surprise wedding now.

He said: "I think the thing is, Tyrone doesn't think a great deal anyway.

"So of course, you know, he's got everything back that he wants, he now knows after all the things that he's been through and it's taken a while for him to realise.

"But he now realises what he wants, he wants his family unit that he's never had and he wants Fiz, and he loves Fiz and he wants all that to happen quickly."

Coronation Street airs on ITV1.
