EastEnders’ Jay Brown star ‘confirms’ exit from BBC soap in now deleted post

EastEnders: Lola dies

Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown on EastEnders, has seemingly confirmed his exit following the death of the character Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

The 29-year-old actor has been at the centre of some of the biggest storylines of the year, including his wife Lola’s brain tumour plot.

Danielle, who played Lola, left the soap earlier this year following her character’s tragic death.

It appears Jamie could be following in her footsteps after sharing a cryptic post on social media.

According to The Mirror, the actor posted an Instagram story on Wednesday evening which appeared to confirm his character’s fate.

Jamie allegedly shared a photo of himself in his youth and paid tribute to Jay.

“RIP Jay, gonna miss you lad,” he penned in light of his many followers. “We had a laugh, didn’t we?”

Jamie has portrayed Jay in the serial drama since 2006, but the post has since been deleted.

During the latest instalment of EastEnders, Jay sped off in a car after telling Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) he wanted to visit Margate.

It was the last place he visited with his late wife and he’s struggling with his grief.

He’s been taking drugs to cope with his loss and was involved in a car accident, with police officers arriving at The Queen Vic to inform Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) about the incident.
