AN EastEnders legend has teased a huge comeback to the soap six years after her last appearance.

It was recently announced that a new EastEnders family will soon be arriving in Albert Square, headed up by Linda Carter's mum Elaine Peacock [Harriet Thorpe].

Now Annette Badland – who played Linda's husband Mick's great aunt Babe Smith – has responded to rumours she could be making a return to the soap.

Appearing on today's Loose Women, Annette, 72, simply said: "I would go back for a story but I wouldn't go for a long journey."

Babe was last seen in Walford in 2017 after Linda [Kellie Bright] and Mick [Danny Dyer] grew tired of her villainous ways.

During her final scene, Babe laid a curse on the family. She told them: "I hope you lose everything, and your precious pub. I curse you."

Eerily her curse has almost come true. In the last six years, Mick and Linda separated, she battled alcoholism, he had a brief stint inside and was last seen driving off a cliff into the sea in dramatic Christmas scenes.

Following Mick's disappearance, Sharon Watts and the Panesar family were vying to join forces with Linda Carter to run the Queen Victoria pub.

However, Linda is secretly teaming up with her "larger-than-life" mother Elaine, who will be bringing her new partner George Knight [Colin Salmon] and his two daughters Gina [Francesca Henry] and Anna [Molly Rainford] to Albert Square.
