EastEnders fans are continuing to speculate who will be found dead in the Queen Vic this Christmas and after one scene in particular aired this week, Dean Wicks is now top of our list.
Dean/Deano (Matt Di Angelo) is Shirley Carter’s (Linda Henry) son and made his arrival back in 2006. The character was a troublemaker when he was younger but during his return in 2014, Dean developed into a much darker and evil character.
Viewers will remember during his time back in Walford, Dean was responsible for raping Linda (Kellie Bright) and attempting to kill Shirley after the reveal that Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) was his brother.
In a recent episode of the BBC One soap, Linda was shaken to the core when she discovered Shirley was staying with Dean.

Shirley made the decision to find her son after Mick’s disappearance at Christmas. The beloved character was swept out to sea after a showdown with Linda and Janine (Charlie Brooks), with the Carter family being told Mick more than likely drowned.
Given Shirley hasn’t been written out of the show, she will return eventually – but will Dean follow her?
Sometimes in soapland, scenes air that feature seemingly throwaway dialogue, but actually provide clues as to what will happen in the future – it’s called foreshadowing.
After Linda’s news about Dean and Shirley – which occurred the same episode as the Christmas flashforward sequence – the character was mentioned again this week at the Slater household.
Following Stacey’s (Lacey Turner) discovery that Theo (William Ellis) had been stalking her, she was stunned when he listed three of her past relationships.
He mentioned Max Branning (Jake Wood), who Stacey had an affair with, Kheerat (Jaz Deol), who is in prison for murder – and Dean.
Stacey and Dean slept together shortly after his arrival to Walford and then following Linda’s rape, Dean starting dating Stacey once they became flatmates.
Stacey ended up playing a key part in the aftermath of Linda’s rape, as she managed to workout what had happened and then persuaded her friend to tell Mick.
And when did Linda reveal her ordeal to Mick? Christmas Day.
Theo told Stacey that he got this information from ‘anyone and everyone’, leaving us to wonder who has told him so much about her.
Could he secretly been in contact with Dean, who more than likely knows a lot of this information from his past in Albert Square, and the updates Shirley has given him during their recent time together?
As we piece together the puzzle as to who will be murdered this Christmas, are these clues enough to confirm it will be Dean?
We have our deerstalker hats on right now so let’s continue to embrace Sherlock Holmes, who thinks ‘the universe is rarely so lazy’ when it comes to coincidences.
If this is correct, there has to be a reason why Dean keeps being mentioned.
Is it only a matter of time until we see him again?
