TSB customers in the UK have been left unable to access their internet banking after an unexpected outage occured this morning.

Reports began to surge on DownDetector after frustrated customers struggled to use the service.

According to the site, which measures outages on popular services, the majority of the issues affect mobile banking.

Just over 50% of reported problems were to do with this while 28% relate to online banking directly.

A TSB spokesperson said: ‘We’re aware some customers may be experiencing issues accessing our Mobile App and Internet Banking.

‘We’re working to solve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.’

Many customers took to Twitter to share their frustrations.

Hey @TSB your business internet banking is not working! Please fix asap as this is probably one of the busiest days of the month for many!

Reports on DownDetector started to emerge at 8.55am this morning Friday, July 29.

‘I’m trying to make a payment but getting error message when there is money in my account anyone else getting this?,’ complained one customer.

London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Aberdeen appeared to be particularly affected, but reports have been flooding in from across the UK.
