EastEnders Rocky Cotton makes risky move as he breaks promise to George Knight

Brian Conley was ‘nervous’ acting in front of Prince Charles

EastEnders’ Rocky Cotton (played by Brian Conley) will be wrapped up in yet another lie soon.

Official spoilers for the BBC soap reveal Dorian Gates (Luke J I Smith) will accost Rocky and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) to entice them to the Pie, Pint and Fight night, but they turn him down.

However, during a game of darts at The Vic, Rocky sneaks off to place a bet.

George Knight (Colin Salmon) gives him a tip, and he lays some serious cash down on the fight.

Harvey arrives and tells Rocky off for breaking his promise not to bet, but Rocky waves his fears away.

Fans will know well-meaning Rocky makes a habit of taking risks, something he assured wife Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) he would stop.

Kathy almost left him when he gambled away their honeymoon and she has since discovered other secrets he had kept, such as the fact he wasn’t divorced from his first wife.

It was recently announced Rocky would soon be leaving the soap – could this next lie have something to do with his exit?

Perhaps Rocky turns to gambling even further and he could even develop an addiction.

Could Kathy find this too much to cope with, causing the couple to split and Rocky to make his exit?

Rocky star Brian recently shut down circulating rumours that his departure from the soap has come after a massive “feud” with BBC bosses.

An insider told The Sun last month: “It looks as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders anymore.

“It’s all come to a head, and at the National TV Awards last week he was pretty open with co-stars and friends about his exit.

Since the news of his departure came out, Brian has addressed the rumours himself, claiming it was a “tough decision” to leave.

Taking to his Instagram page, he told his fans: “Hello lovely people it’s me Brian Conley aka Rocky, sending out this message, especially to all the EastEnders fans.

“Now you may have heard reports that I am leaving EastEnders, and it was a tough decision but it is true – I am going, and I made the decision for many reasons.

“It is tough because there’s such a wonderful crowd in front of the camera and behind, and I loved my three years there. As to truths in the reports, there are parts saying I clashed with TV bosses and the crews, I didn’t clash with anyone or go on a rant.”

He added: “They will probably report on this now, saying I have had a ranting about ranting – but I am not ranting.”

EastEnders continues on Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
