Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) turns to drugs again as Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) continues the search for their missing mother in EastEnders scenes set to air in August.
Anna steals from the till in The Vic to cover the cost of the private investigator she’s hired to track down her mum. Gina’s horrified and goes to tell George Knight (Colin Salmon), but Anna lies and says she left the cash on the side and someone must have taken it.
When they’re alone, Gina gives Anna an ultimatum, her or their mum. In the end, Anna decides to continue with her search.
Gina begins to spiral out of control and upsets Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) when he assumes she's making a move on him. Gina heads to buy drugs from the dealer she met in Peggy’s a few weeks back.
Sensing tension between his daughters, George traps Anna in her lie about the stolen money and Anna’s forced to reveal the truth. George implores Anna to call off the search for her mum, but her private investigator discovers a lead.
Later, Anna accosts Gina and agrees to stop looking for their mum as long as Gina agrees to give up drugs for good. What the Knights don't know is that their mum also goes by Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and has been living under the alias of Rose whilst in witness protection.
Elsewhere, after seeing Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) fatherly bond with Bert and Ernie, Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) decides he wants to find his dad. He visits Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and demands she tell him who his dad is.
Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) overhears a conversation between Kat, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and heads to Freddie to share his dad’s real name. Freddie beams as he discovers ‘Graham Foster’ on a car dealership website.
Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) helps Freddie set up a meeting with his dad, Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney), as he pretends to test drive one of his cars.
Overwhelmed at being face to face with his dad, Freddie soon reveals his true identity, will Graham tell Freddie the truth about what he did to Little Mo and why he’s been absent in his life?
Also, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) is unimpressed when she is forced to spend her day off at the hospice with Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) wife Debbie after he is called into a client crisis.
Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) encourages Sonia to tell Reiss the truth about her feelings towards Debbie.
Later, Sonia realises she’s late on her period and worries to Whitney that she might be pregnant. Reiss tries to set up a lunch date to apologise for his previous insensitivity around Sonia’s feeling towards Debbie, but he accidentally puts his foot in it when he drunkenly shares his negative views towards the prospect of children.
