Ricky Champ’s final scenes as Stuart Highway will air this week in EastEnders.

As part of new Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw’s efforts to shake-up the show, Ricky is one of the many stars on the list of exits.

If you’re watching the soap on BBC One this week, Stuart is yet to depart Walford but, if you’re viewing the episodes on BBC iPlayer, you’ll know he leaves at the end of the week.

During last night’s edition, a troubled Stuart locked the door at the Panesar surgery, adamant no-one would be leaving until he’s seen by another doctor and told he does not have depression.

Fortunately, in tonight’s televised episode, Rainie (Tanya Franks) will return to Albert Square and successfully manages to help her partner.

The following information contains spoilers about how Stuart’s final scenes play out.

Once Stuart accepted his post-natal depression diagnosis, he reunited with Rainie and they decided to leave together with baby Roland, ready to start again.

It’s an emotional time for Ricky Champ, who’s played Stuart since 2018 and, in a new Instagram post, he’s paid tribute to the complex character and admitted he’ll really miss him.

Sharing a variety of pictures throughout Stu’s time, Ricky wrote alongside: ‘What a crazy, amazing journey. It’s going to be strange not having this guy living in my head. Farewell Mr Highway, it’s been emotional.’

Stuart has been at the centre of many dramatic storylines over the past few years.

From his feud with Mick (Danny Dyer) to his relationship with brother Callum (Tony Clay), right through to marrying Rainie, it’s been quite a journey for our Stu, and we’ll certainly miss him.
