EastEnders actor Neil McDermott has excitedly announced the arrival of his third child with wife Michelle Edward.
He shared the happy news on Instagram with a collection of photos of his newborn daughter, Maria Jolene.
He wrote: ‘Welcome to the world.
‘Maria Jolene McDermott. Born Tuesday at 4.18pm. 8 pound 3.
‘Thank You Michelle for carrying our beautiful daughter and going through another pregnancy and all that entails. I don’t know how you do it. Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear DVT socks.
‘I love you. ❤️’
He concluded: ‘Thanks for all the messages. We are home, happy and safe. And Baby number 3 is thriving. And Babies number 1 and 2 adore their baby sister.’
In the series of photos, he also shared Maria meeting her older siblings who looked ecstatic with the newest member of their family.
The post was flooded with congratulatory messages, which included ‘congratulations’ from Hollyoaks actress Daisy Wood-Davis, and West End star Aimie Atkinson.
Actor, Strictly Come Dancing and fellow dad Danny Mac also added five love heart emojis.
Neil, 42, began playing Ryan Malloy in 2009, before returning in 2011, 2014, 2016 and once again earlier this year.
He was involved in a dramatic storyline when he discovered that his 12-year-old daughter Lilly, who’s mum is Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), was pregnant.
He has also had roles in Doctor Who, Casualty and Doctors.
