Loose Women descends into chaos as panel disagree over Rishi Sunak

Today's Loose Women descended into chaos as the panellists had a rather heated disagreement over new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

Gloria Hunniford began by saying: "I'm very glad that somebody is in as Prime Minister and likely to stay there for a while."

The broadcaster, 82, discussed how Rishi originally lost out on the role to former Prime Minister Liz Truss, saying: "I think after that he actually handled himself very well.

"He didn't slap back, he didn't say anything that was sarcastic, he kept very quiet, and we know how it all turned out. I think overall we need that bit of confidence."

Gloria continues: "I thought he was quite strong yesterday and I believe that everything is going to improve."

As she finishes speaking, co-panellist Carol McGiffin reveals that she completely disagrees with Gloria's assessment.

She says: "I really don't agree with any of that. I don't have any confidence, I don't feel inspired at all.

"I feel very very let down and disillusioned at the fact that okay he was sworn in, he was anointed if you like, but he was not voted for."

Carol continues: "He was rejected completely by so many people, by the [Tory] party, by everybody. And the fact that he's now Prime Minister and everyone's just going 'ohh it's going to be really good, it's going to be great.'"

Gloria then intercepts asking: "Well who else could we put in?"

To which Carol responds: "Look as far as I'm concerned all politicians are the same, they just have different faces that's it.

"So it doesn't matter who you put in there, and especially now, right now they are all saying the same thing."

Carol then goes on to claim that the country needs a new political party and new politicians, adding that many current MPs bar a "few noble exceptions" are in the job for the wrong reasons.

Panellists Brenda Edwards interjects, saying: "I think he has his work cut out for him in so many ways" adding that she's waiting to reserve judgement to see if he solves the current economic crisis.

The panellists, who frequently disagree on topics, recently came to blows as Gloria and Denise Welch had a rather fiery disagreement over Meghan Markle.
