Pat and Janine Butcher have reunited – well, more specifically, Pam St Clement and Charlie Brooks.
The two former EastEnders stars had a touching meeting on today’s (July 11) Loose Women years after their respective exits from the BBC soap.
“The friendship that we built up until she left was really quite special,” Charlie said after the on-screen step-mum and step-daughter hugged.
“I went to Pam for quite a lot of advice, with career stuff, personal stuff. She told me to do I’m a Celebrity. I rang her up going, ‘Pam, what should I do?’ She said, ‘Charlie you love adventure, you love life, go and do it.’
“Because she knew me, she knew it would work for me.”
Pam added: “She’s fabulous. Such a worker,” as Charlie continued: “I learnt from the best. But we did quite a lot of fighting. Then we were laughing in the green room before you knew it.”
Janine was a noted villain in the series, and Charlie admitted she got sent some rather unwelcome gifts in reaction to her storylines.
“I used to get sent bibles and things like that, saying, ‘God help you,'” she recalled.
Pam exited the soap back in 2012 after Pat passed away from cancer, though has made sporadic appearances in dream sequences since, notably during Dame Barbara Windsor’s final episode in 2016. Charlie exited the show in 2014.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV, while EastEnders airs on BBC One.
