EastEnders fans are convinced they have ‘worked out’ how Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) will leave Albert Square ahead of the soap star’s exit.

Over the past few months, fans of the BBC One TV show have been on an emotional journey with the popular character after he was diagnosed with breast cancer.

As the TV star battled his way through the devastating illness, he also went on to tackle postnatal depression following the birth of his son Rolan with his loving wife Rainie (Tanya Franks).

While the long-standing character continued to spiral out of control, viewers were forced to say goodbye to the loving mum and her child as she stormed out of their family home in an attempt to build a better life for their son.

And it appears as though the TV star will remain on a self-destructive path after he lost his job and proceeded to start planning his own funeral believing that he would die as a result of his cancer diagnosis.

But a trip to the hospital took him by surprise after he was told he was officially cancer free alongside his close friend Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley).

With the actor still struggling with his mental health, fans have shared their concerns that the loveable character may take his own life after losing his family while battling with his illness.

Taking to Reddit, one user shared their theory that the only way for the star to avoid death is through the return of his ex-wife.

They wrote: “I really think Stuart is gonna die. I just don’t see any way he leaves the square without dying unless Rainie comes back.”

Another agreed: “Yeah 100%, I think it’s going to be suicide, tying with the postnatal depression maybe, he isn’t got to do a Peter and just up and leave.”

A third fan begged: “I didn’t want @RickyChamp1 to leave his role as Stuart in #EastEnders because he has done so much in this storyline, he has grown on me from the start BUT I hope that they leave the door open for him to return in the future [three heart emojis].”

Meanwhile one fan of the show chimed in with: “No, no, no I don’t want Stuart to leave #EastEnders @RickyChamp1.”
