Emmerdale: Ryan Stocks says goodbye to Charity Dingle
Emmerdale fans have theorised that newcomer Gail Loman (played by Rachael Gill-Davis) has a very significant link to the village and a past character.
Having first appeared in the ITV soap in 2019, she disappeared for several years but returned earlier this year after making contact with her ex-boyfriend Ryan Stocks (James Moore).
The couple reunited and she moved to the village and started work in the iconic local pub the Woolpack – which is owned by Ryan and his mother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
While she has been unassuming albeit a little clumsy some viewers believe that there’s more to her than meets the eye and that she is in fact the daughter of Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell)
“I have a funny feeling it’s Zoe Tate’s Daughter maybe her real name is not Gail it’s probably Jean Tate,” one fan speculated.

Another viewer agreed writing: “I think she’s Zoe Tate’s daughter…I could be wrong but she’s about the right age and the history between Charity and Zoe could be a reason for her to rock up in the village.”
Jean left the village with her mum Zoe in September 2002 when the pair departed for New Zealand amidst Zoe’s ongoing feud with Charity.
Leah Bracknell, who played Zoe sadly died of lung cancer in October 2019 at the age of 55.
However, the character is still alive so there is no reason why her daughter couldn’t have arrived in Emmerdale with some ulterior motive that is yet to be revealed.
Recently she has been seen snapping at Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) after she and Ryan alluded to something from the past.

Ryan was heard telling her: “You can’t just pretend it didn’t happen,” to which she replied: “And what is the point in dragging out old baggage?”
If it does transpire that she is indeed Jean Tate then she would be a cousin of Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) who arrived in the village last December under similarly mysterious circumstances.
His father is Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and his father was Frank Tate (Norman Bowler) who was Zoe’s father.
Since arriving, he has caused havoc in the village by seducing Gabby Thomas and becoming engaged to her as part of his father’s revenge plan against Kim Tate (Claire King).
This is despite the fact that he is gay and had a long-term boyfriend. He also tried to kill his father by pushing him off a cliff, leaving him in a coma.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
