Emmerdale fans think they have figured out Nicky's mum's identity after spotting a last name clue.

Only recently, it was revealed that loveable Home Farm nanny Nicky is Caleb Milligan's son, which viewers had predicted, and Frank Tate was in fact Caleb's dad.

And during Friday's episode, Caleb, who is out to bring down his dad's ex-wife Kim Tate and win back his birthright Home Farm, shared his plans to son Nicky.

However, Nicky was left distracted due to his dad's romance with Leyla Harding, which he was not happy about.

During the episode, Nicky continued to threaten to "tell his mam" about Caleb and Leyla, hinting that Caleb may in fact still be in a relationship with his son's mother and therefore cheating.

To which Caleb told Nicky not to "hold out much hope" between him and his mother but he did agree to avoid Leyla, promising it won't happen again.

And later, during a pub lunch, Caleb cruelly and bluntly ended things with Leyla, leaving her heartbroken and shocked as she stormed out.

Ever since the mention of Nicky's "mam", fans have been desperate to know who it is and some eagle-eyed viewers think they've cracked it.

Taking to Twitter, fans have predicted that Nicky's mum and Caleb's "wife" could in fact be Defence Barrister Milligan, who represented serial killer Meena Jutla last year, as they both have the same last name.

Furthermore, Nicky boasted about his legal connections when first arriving in the village and even helped Cain Dingle with son Kyle Winchester after Al Chapman's death.

One person tweeted: "Is Nicky's mum the Defence Barrister Milligan (Amy Robbins) from Meena's court plea hearing? Is that how Caleb was able to help Kyle with legal stuff? #emmerdale."

Elsewhere during the episode, Caleb confirmed his own mother's identity.

With Caleb’s father now confirmed to be Frank, soap watchers had been asking whether or not his mother really was Faith Dingle – or if this was another lie.

Given the timing of his arrival, Faith had sadly already lost her battle with breast cancer by the time he returned to the village, meaning it was impossible for Faith to either confirm or deny that he was her child.

However, during Friday's episode, Caleb confirmed that his mother was in fact Faith.
