Emmerdale Marlons wives now- co-star hubby, rival soap stint and emotional exit

Emmerdale's Woolpack chef Marlon Dingle has had a rather colourful love life in the ITV soap.

The happy go lucky character played by actor Mark Charnock made his first appearance on the show in October 1996 and has been involved in a number of hard-hitting storylines.

One of which include his recent stroke earlier this year and his willingness to the tie the knot with current wide Rhona Goskirk ( Zoe Henry) despite all odds.

But as Marlon continues on his road to recovery, Daily Star has taken a look back at his previous wives and where they ended up after their time on the popular ITV show.

Tricia Dingle

Marlon's first wife Tricia Dingle played by actress Sheree Murphy arrived in the Dales in September 1998 and quickly became a big hit behind the Woolpack bar.

Tricia married Australian Joe Fisher in December 2000 but it was obvious she wanted him for money and nothing more.

Two years later, the barmaid started dating Marlon Dingle.

The happy couple got engaged and planned to marry on 16th October, but in true soap style things didn't work out on the day of their wedding and they ended up marrying on Valentine's Day in 2003.

Not long after Tricia decided to leave Emmerdale as she found work on a Bollywood movie, Marlon was also supposed to go with her but had problems entering the country.

Making a return to the village days later, Marlon slept with his cousin Charity and tried to hide it from Tricia when she returned however Tricia eventually found out.

On New Year's eve Tricia tried to leave the village for good but decided to return when she realised just how much Marlon loved her.

But things became problematic when she was killed tragically in a storm as a near by tree was struck with lightening.

Following on from her time in Emmerdale, actress Sheree has appeared ITV's I'm A Celeb, Hollyoaks and was also a contestant in BBC's Celebrity MasterChef in 2015 and has presented a daytime programme called Yes Chef.

Sheree is married to Australian football coach Harry Kewell, with whom she shares four children with.

Donna Windsor

In 2006, widower Marlon found love with Donna Windsor.

Daughter of Viv Hope and Vic Windsor, Donna played by actress Verity Rushworth was a fan favourite in the show.

After almost a year of dating, Marlon proposed, leaving Donna surprised but also overjoyed.

However when the couple started planning their wedding, their happiness was stifled by Donna's mother, Viv, who insisted they have a double wedding.

As time progressed, Marlon and Donna's marriage quickly became a turbulent one, with Donna later having an affair.

Nearing the end of their marriage, Donna, who was training to become a policewoman found out she was pregnant, but left the village without Marlon knowing her state.

When she returned to the village with her daughter April in tow, Donna was in a bad way and Marlon later discovered that she was dying from lung cancer.

However in 2014, after being caught up in a terrible illegal police sting, Donna decided to throw herself and blackmailer Gary North off a building.

Following her time in Emmerdale, actress Verity continued to star in stage productions and appeared in BBC's Doctors in 2021.

Laurel Thomas

After her long marriage to Emmerdale vicar Ashley, Laurel Thomas decided to peruse a relationship with Marlon Dingle.

However the couple's relationship was quickly met with discomfort, with the death of Donna in 2014 and the unexpected arrival of Marlon's daughter April.

When Laurel learned that Marlon had kissed Donna before she died, she felt unsure she even wanted to marry Marlon but still went ahead with it anyway.

However Laurel and Marlon's marriage was short-lived as she continued to battle with alcoholism

Although they tried to give things another go, they soon realised that their marriage was over and decided to go their separate ways in 2015, after a year.

Laurel played by actress Charlotte Bellamy is still a valued member of Emmerdale and is currently in an on and off again relationship with Jai Sharma.

Jessie Grant

Before tying the knot to Marlon, Billy Fletcher and Ellis Chapman's mother Jessie Grant had already been married twice before – one of the times being to businessman Al Chapman.

School teacher Jessie had her eye set on Marlon early on and wasn't about to let anyone get in her way of her romance.

After Marlon confessed his love for Jessie later on in their relationship, Jessie prepares an unofficial wedding ceremony in December 2018.

By January 2019, the couple tied the knot legally but they soon faced troubles later on in the year when Al arrived on the scene.

When things started to go wrong at work and with Marlon always caught in the middle of Billy and Ellis constant arguing, the couple realised that their relationship was becoming strained.

But things got even more troublesome when Jessie fell into the arms of Al and ended up sleeping with him.

Marlon and Jessie's marriage ended when Jessie decided to take a teaching job in Dubai.

Sine leaving the Dales, actress Sandra Marvin who played Jessie has continued to work in the acting profession had a bagged herself a role in BBC's Call The Midwife in 2021.

Rhona Goskirk

Marlon's current wife Rhona Goskirk has had an on and off relationship with the pub chef throughout her time on the show.

The veterinary surgeon arrived in the Dales in September 2001 and has been a key member of the show since then.

Things with Rhona and Marlon was going steady initially but it quickly cooled off when Tricia returned to the village.

After a long hiatus away from the show, Rhona, who is played by actress Zoe Henry returned to Emmerdale in 2010 and began to have feeling for Paddy Dingle- Marlon's best friend.

But despite her romance with Paddy, Rhona fell pregnant with Marlon's baby and they end up welcoming their son Leo.

Despite having other relationships throughout the years Rhona and Marlon remained close and finally decided to engage earlier this year.

However things took a devastating turn when Maron's excitement and anxiety surrounding his proposal caused him to have a stroke.

Nevertheless, when Marlon did manage to get better, he married Rhona in August.

Actress Zoe is still a part of the Emmerdale cast.

Her husband Jeff Hordley who plays bad boy Cain Dingle also works alongside her but the couple try to ensure that they're never in the same scenes.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm
