Last week viewers watched Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) get murdered by Chas’ brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) after he discovered their affair. Although their infidelity has remained a secret from their retrospective partners, all could about to be revealed. In scenes set to air next week Chas’ grief for Al causes her husband Paddy (Dominic Brunt) to get suspicious.

It’s been a gruesome few weeks in Emmerdale as fans have watched four characters in the ITV soap come to a deadly end.

Viewers have seen Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) exit the soap along with a storm claiming the lives of Harriett Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).

However, it was Al Chapman who was the most recent Emmerdale victim as his affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) resulted in him being killed off by her brother Cain.

Although their rendezvous has remained a secret from their partners Paddy and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) all could about to be revealed.

Official Emmerdale spoilers reveal that in scenes set to air next week, Chas is thrown when Al’s fiance Kerry informs her that the funeral is tomorrow and asks if she’ll accompany her.

However, after thinking about it Chas then explains to an understanding Kerry that she needs to attend Liv’s send-off instead of the funeral.

When Vinny opens Liv’s urn ready to let her go, Chas becomes a grief-stricken sobbing mess as she pushes Paddy away and decides to leave.

Later on in the Woolpack, Chas becomes distracted when Chloe, Dawn and Billy all return from Al’s funeral.

Although she tries to cover her emotions, she’s thrown when she hears that the turnout was poor.

Kerry breaks down in front of Chas outside of Keepers as she also becomes awash with the same grief and slips the order of service into her coat as she leaves.

Paddy is thrown back at the house when his wife then lets out her upset and rage after secretly reading Al’s order of service.

It’s not long before Paddy is confiding in Lydia as he starts to question if there could be more to why Chas is grieving Al so much.

A theory by Express.co.uk suggests that Paddy goes to visit Cain to voice his concerns over his wife as he becomes at a loss.

Watching his brother-in-law in tears over Chas’ erratic behaviour, he suggests that he demands answers from his wife and stands his ground.

Taking his advice, Paddy then confronts Chas as he questions why she cares so deeply for Al’s loss.

With emotions at an all-time high, could Chas be about to break down and reveal her long-running secret affair once and for all?

Although Al’s exit came as a shock to viewers, actor Michael Wildman confessed that over the past year and a half there was no real reason for him to stay.

Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “His son Ellis had gone, and so when our executive producer rang me to say, ‘We are thinking of letting Al go’, I told her, ‘I am with you – so long as Al doesn’t leave in a taxi’.

“I wanted Al to go out with a bang, and last night he most definitely did. I am so pleased. It’s been brilliant to be part of the 50th celebrations and it’s a great time to die.”

Emmerdale airs on ITV on weekdays at 7pm.
