Emmerdale: Wendy bumps into Bob

Wendy Posner (played by Susan Cookson) begged Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) for forgiveness after he found out her affair with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) had been going on for months on Emmerdale.

She explained how their affair started after she’d collaborated with Liam on a murder-mystery story.

Bob confessed he’d almost cheated on Wendy with his business partner Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles), but he stopped himself as he didn’t want to be unfaithful.

Bob actor Tony has now opened up on the uncertain future facing his character in the wake of the scandal. 

“It’s interesting with this relationship – it’s the first time you’ve seen a woman cheat on Bob,” he told Digital Spy.

“It’s mainly been the other way around over the years. So it’s going to be interesting to see how it’s going to impact him.”

He added: “Working with Cooky [Susan Cookson] has been absolutely brilliant, I’ve got to say. It’s been joyful.

“So to hear that [Wendy] was going to be unfaithful, it was a bit of a shock when we’d only just got together!”

Bob was furious when he learned about Wendy’s affair, but he initially tried to repair their relationship.

However, he is struggling to forget what she has done and might not be able to forgive the Emmerdale nurse who works alongside Liam.

Could Bob end up leaving Emmerdale after breaking up with Wendy following her mistake?

Perhaps Bob will pursue Bernice in upcoming scenes after the actor said the characters have “chemistry”.

Emmerdale fans will recall the pair almost kissed following some drinks, but it never amounted to anything. 

Will Bob end up being unfaithful to Wendy in a desperate bid to get his revenge for her deceit?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
