I tried and tested a £2.50 Temu washing machine to see if it really was a bargain – here’s how it went | The Sun

A WOMAN who bought a £2.50 washing machine on Temu has shared her review of the cheap as chips product.

Kel said that her husband had actually picked up the "fancy little washing machine" on the controversial app.

"It's arrived, and I'm really keen to see what it's like!" she said in her video on TikTok.

Opening the box, she noted that they'd been sent a "green one" as she marvelled at just how small it was.

"If that's the size of it, it's really little!" she said.

Kel tried to set the machine up without looking at the instructions, but then gave in and was left in hysterics by the poor English in the leaflet.

"Don't in too many water, folks," she laughed.

"That's my favourite phrase of the day!"

Once she'd figured out how to properly set up the machine, she took it over to somewhere she could properly see it to check it out.

And she quickly realised that the hole she'd been trying to put the power lead in was actually the drain for the device.

"Joke's on me!" she giggled, before connecting up the power correctly.

She then looked back at the instructions to see what the next step was, at which point she couldn't help but laugh at another incorrect phrase.

"After being fully drained water again, form a prison," she read out.

Kel then decided to put water into the machine to see what happens, as she said: "Ok, I reckon there should be enough in there.

"I'm going to shut the lid and see what happens!"

She then put the machine on the second setting, at which point it whirred into life.

"Holy moly – it's working! That is so cool!" she marvelled.

She opened up the lid to show the white plastic basket whizzing around inside.

"I wonder what it's like with clothes in it!" she said.

People were quick to comment on the video, with many pointing out that Kel had made an error with her setup.

"You left the tumbler inside," one wrote.

"You need to remove the basket – the basket is for spinning/tumbling the washed clothes.

"You wash clothes without the basket."

"The white basket is for spin only not wash," another added.

As a third said: "The white part in the middle is for spin mode.

"You don't need it in when you're just washing."

Others pointed out that Kel seemed to have got a great deal with the washing machine, which was a whole lot more expensive when they checked themselves.

"Only $5 for new account holders! Much more expensive for others," one person commented.

And some also shared their own reviews of the little machine.

"I won 2 of these on Temu! love mine for camping!" one wrote.

"I have it in purple! Got it as my opening offer for £5, great wee thing!" someone else said.

"Wouldn’t want to do a weekly wash in it but for camping/small thing brilliant!

"I love mine, it's great!" a third said.

"I’ve got 1 too – it’s not bad," someone else wrote.

"Perfect to do a quick wash when toilet training."
