Emmerdale marked its 50th anniversary last month with some explosive storylines that are still unravelling. Fan-favourite Paddy Kirk (played by Dominic Brunt) has been at the heart of a gripping plot, although he is still unaware of what’s been happening right in front of him. Express.co.uk has everything there is to know about the Paddy actor’s life away from the cameras.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Emmerdale.

Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt is married to fellow actress Joanne Mitchell.

The couple met when they were studying at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and while it isn’t known how long they dated for, they did tie the knot in April 2003.

She is best known to soap fans as Dominic’s co-star, the manipulative Sandra Flaherty.

Joanne had been in Emmerdale on a few separate occasions in different roles before joining as a regular cast member in 2016.

Does Emmerdale’s Paddy Kirk star Dominic Brunt have children?

The Emmerdale actor has two sons who he shares with wife and co-star Joanne.

They are Mickey-Joe and Danny Lee and while their exact ages aren’t known, it is thought the pair are both teenagers.

The famous couple rarely share photos of their children but Joanne did in the summer of 2021 when she and eldest

Mickey-Joe met some falcons at a birds of prey centre.

She wrote: “Date day with the birds (& my eldest boy)- couldn’t recommend @thirsk_birdsofpreycentre more for a great day out.”

Dominic did previously open up about his youngest, Danny Lee, discussing how he had a heart operation at just eight months old.

He explained: “At the time it’s the most horrific thing to have to go through as a parent and obviously as a child, but he’s football-mad now, he’s completely fine.

“He has check-ups once a year for the rest of his life, but thankfully Leeds Royal Infirmary were great and the children’s heart surgery fund have been great.”

As well as their children, Dominic and Joanne also share three dogs together.

One of Paddy’s closest friends Vanessa Woodfield (played by Michelle Hardwick) is leaving the village this week.

She was offered a new job in Canada and after her relationship with Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) went south, Vanessa believed this would be the best next step for her.

Paddy was sad to see her go, and so were his other close friends Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and his wife Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).

Unfortunately, there is going to be even more bad news on the horizon for the veterinarian.

Paddy is still unaware his wife Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was having an affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).

It was thought Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) had murdered Al when it was in fact his son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) who shot him.

Paddy doesn’t know anything about the affair so how will he react when all of these revelations do come out?

Emmerdale is available to watch four nights a week at 7.30pm on ITV.
