Emmerdale villain to ‘return’ to the village after 10 years

Emmerdale saw the back of Carl King’s (played by Tom Lister) son Thomas (Mark Flanagan) 10 years ago after he went to live with his birth mother in Saudi Arabia. However, before he left, he certainly left his mark on the villagers after he terrorised Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and seduced Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), almost convincing the youngster to run away with him. However, according to reports, Thomas will be making a return to the village very soon.

During his eight-year stint in the village, Thomas and his sister Anya King (Lauren Sheriston) saw Chas as a mother figure.

But when their father was killed in 2012, they blamed her for the love rat’s death.

At the time, Chas did think she had killed her former lover until it was revealed Cameron Murray (Dominic Powers) had silenced him.

After months and months of stalking Chas and making her life a living hell, Thomas eventually left the Dales to go and live with his birth mother in Saudi Arabia.

A source revealed: “Tom’s return is going to be explosive.

“He shocks his uncle Jimmy when he returns to the village and it’s not clear why he’s back.

“Fans will be glued to their screens watching Tom’s comeback unfold — and his presence could cause chaos.”

“They will all be asking if he’s as evil as his dad Carl and wondering why he’s returned,” the source added to The Sun.

The publication also claimed actor James Chase has been signed up to play the returning character.

Speaking at the end of last year, Emmerdale producer Jane Hudson spoke with Express.co.uk and other press about a major character’s return.

“We are working on summer storylines and I always like to have a summer spectacular,” she said.

“So if I say that, I have to come up with something now.”
