Emmerdale’s Amelia Spencer gets emotional as her dad contacts her from prison

Emmerdale: Dan Spencer receives a call from Kerry Wyatt

Emmerdale teen Amelia Spencer (played by Daisy Campbell) will have another setback as she struggles to adjust to life without her father.

Earlier this year, fans of the ITV soap saw Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) decide to take action against his daughter’s stalker Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton).

After an altercation, Dan punched Lloyd to the ground which resulted in him being rushed to hospital.

Although his charge was initially GBH, the situation took a drastic turn when Lloyd died in hospital from his injuries.

In the end, viewers saw Dan sentenced to eight years in prison, leaving behind his daughter Amelia to fend for herself raising baby Esther.

Although Amelia was determined to show people she was capable of living alone and raising her daughter, it was clear she was finding it hard without her dad around.

Speaking to her boyfriend Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) about the situation, she confessed battling anxiety over living alone.

Despite trying to adjust to a new life while her father spends time behind bars, it looks as though she’s going to face another setback.

Official spoilers for next week reveal the teen will be celebrating her first birthday without Dan around.

However, he sends her a birthday card from prison, which leaves her extremely upset.

Will this cause Amelia to spiral further as she realises Dan won’t be around to watch her daughter grow up?

It looks as though the teen isn’t the only person emotional over Dan’s exit as actor Liam Fox told Express.co.uk how he felt when reading his final script.

He said: “When I read the script I thought this was awful. He is kind of taking it all in and realising he is going and is getting support from other people in the village.

“There is some lovely stuff before he goes, he goes in the pub and the Man Club is really supporting him.

“It’s really well written, it’s really nice stuff. It made me cry a few times while reading it.

“It’s really emotional, lovely stuff. I feel very lucky to get that sort of script around that story.”
