ESCAPE to the Chateau's Dick and Angel have confirmed their popular Channel 4 show will be returning for a last ever season.

The popular series that follows the family as they build their dream French home will air its last season in October.

Taking to Instagram to share the news with their fans, Dick and Angel posted a snap of them with the date of the next series.

Along with the pic, the caption read: "So excited to say that the new series of Escape to the Chateau starts in Sunday 30th October at 8pm on Channel 4!"

The couple added: "For a sneak preview of what to expect in series 9, click the link in our bio…"

Fans were thrilled with the news that series was coming back, but at the same time sad as it's the last season.

The news of the new series comes after the couple recently shared snaps of their favourite room in the Chateau – the library.

Fans had a lot to say about the couple's choice of furniture, as they suggested they should get a more "comfier" chair in the room.

The new series of Escape to the Chateau starts in Sunday 30th October at 8pm on Channel 4.
