Ex DOI star takes cheeky dig at show and say they didnt know it was still on

Former Dancing on Ice star Lemar Obika was left gobsmacked after he revealed he had no idea that the ITV show was on.

The 44 year old took part in the skating show in 2018, replacing ex-England cricketer Monty Panesar.

Following his shaky dance routines on the ice and landing himself in the bottom two on more than one occasion, Lemar and his dance partner Melody Le Moal were voted off during the 6th week.

But when asked if he was watching the current series, Lemar was clearly unaware it was actually taking place and that the final was fast approaching.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the Urban Music Awards, he said: "Is it on now? Wow, so there's the answer to the question right."

He added: "I've just been head down, so I'm a bit disengaged with stuff but obviously I was on Dancing on Ice and that was good fun, it's nice to learn something new.

"It's harder than I thought but if I go down to the local ice rink now I would be pretty good. I'm like 'look at me though' so it's all good."

When asked if he would ever consider doing it again, the singer insisted that "once is enough".

The news comes after Lemar recently revealed that he is releasing brand new material for the first time in 11 years.

The single Future Love will be the first release from the reality star's seventh studio album, Page In My Heart, which is set for released on March 24.

Talking to Metro about his new material he said: "With this new album, I wanted to make something for anyone who ever bought Dedicated, as this year is 20 years since its release.

"I thought I’d like to make something for the people who got behind that album, something that they would appreciate and like."

He also added: "This album is about me and my relationships, and my fans’ relationships, and hopefully what they’ve been going through as well in my dialogue with them."

On Sunday night (March 12), this year's series of Dancing on Ice will come to an end, with Joey Essex, The Vivienne and Nile Wilson battling it out to take first place.
