GMB fans concerned Richard Madeley has been axed as he disappears from show

Good Morning Britain fans are convinced that Richard Madeley has been axed from the ITV morning show.

The TV host, who was regularly featuring alongside Susanna Reid on the show, hasn't been on-screen since August after he told viewers he wouldn't be on the show "for a while".

However, he hasn't shared any information for his departure, nor any suggestion as to when he is likely to return, leaving many fans convinced he's been axed by show bosses.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: "Has GMB finally dumped Richard Madeley? He's not been around for ages."

Another said: "GMB where's Richard Madeley? Has he been given the boot? Not seen him for ages."

A third wrote: "Has Madeley been sacked?"

Richard's last stint in the studio was on August 10 where he appeared alongside Charlotte Hawkins, but on his last appearance he confessed he wouldn't be back for a while.

He said at the time: "It's a bit earlier but I'm not on the show for a while, so I thought I'd show you what we've got so far," and showed viewers an update on his grass which featured as part of the relevant segment.

Instead of Richard, Ed Balls has been appearing on the show most weekdays with Susanna, with the likes of Ben Shephard and Martin Lewis stepping in to help as part of the regular roster.

Richard has also not given an update on his Instagram or his Twitter since his departure, so fans haven't heard from him since his last stint on the show.

The star has been off the show since his daughter Chloe Madeley gave birth to her daughter, but it remains unclear if the two are connected.

Richard has been one of the many TV hosts on the roster to appear alongside Susanna Reid as bosses failed to find a suitable permanent replacement for Piers Morgan following his exit.

Piers famously left the show following an Ofcom row which saw ITV bosses ask him to apologise on air for his opinions on Meghan Markle, which he refused.

In the 18 months which followed, GMB has tested out multiple male co-stars alongside Susanna.

GMB continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
