Gogglebox favourite Stephen Webb has reportedly signed up to appear on Dancing on Ice.

The hair salon owner turned TV personality and his husband Daniel Lustig announced their departure from the Channel 4 show earlier this month.

After 10 years of offering his verdict on the latest shows on telly, Stephen said that it was time to "explore new opportunities".

A source told The Sun that he's going to be getting his skates on for the upcoming 2024 series of the ITV ice-skating show.

They said: "If they do go on other things they are making official their transition to celebrity, and Gogglebox reviewers are meant to be regular members of the public.

“Stephen had very much developed his own profile.

" It wasn’t a surprise he received other offers, though no one would have necessarily guessed he’d be doing Dancing On Ice."

Confirming their exit from Gogglebox in a joint statement, they wrote: "We feel like the time is right to move on and explore new opportunities.

"We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show.

"We are also extremely thankful to the cast and crew, our Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all your love and support over the years."

Production company Studio Lambert and Channel 4 added in a statement: "After a brilliant and illustrious time on Gogglebox, Stephen and Daniel have decided that now is the right time to explore life beyond the sofa and leave the show.

"As one of the original Goggleboxers, Stephen has entertained the nation with his hilarious quips since the show first started in 2013, sharing his opinions on the best and biggest TV events of the last 10 years.

"We would like to thank him and Daniel for being utterly brilliant contributors to the show, and we wish them well with their future projects."

S Club star Hannah Spearritt is also rumoured to be taking part in Dancing on Ice when it rerturns.
