Good Morning Britain fans furious as show is cancelled and replaced with bizarre choice | The Sun

GOOD Morning Britain fans have been left fuming after the show was cancelled today and replaced with kid's TV.

ITV viewers took to social media to complain that there was no sign of GMB when they switched on to watch on Monday.

The popular show normally sees presenting hosts, who include Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins and Susanne Reid, discuss the top stories of the day.

However, despite anticipating an episode of the programme on New Year's Day, fans were left disappointed.

Instead, ITV decided to show a series of kid's programmes from early in the morning, including Disney film Mr Magoo.

Fans were so angry that they took to social media to complain about the missing programme as they fumed about "another day off" for its flagship stars.

"GMB stopped again, I see," one angrily penned, while a second chimed in to agree: "Another day off at GMB."

"Christmas television on all main terrestrial television has been the worst ever this year." a third fumed.

Good Morning Britain was taken off air today due to the bank holiday – and isn't the only show to have gone awry.

Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women have also been sacked from the TV schedule to keep the kids entertained.

While Lorraine and This Morning usually air from 9am until past lunchtime, ITV will instead show Britain's Favourite Walks.

During Loose Women's slot, from 12:30pm to 1pm, the movie Death Becomes Her will instead be showing.

The regular ITV schedule is set to restart tomorrow, Jan 3.

Good Morning Britain will air from 6am, Lorraine from 9am, This Morning from 10am, and Loose Women from 12.30pm.

While GMB continued over the Christmas period, a fresh faced joined the panel – with Gordon Smart as a new presenter.

Gordon is a journalist, editor and broadcaster who made a name for himself by becoming the youngest editor of The Sun’s Bizarre Showbiz column when he was only 26 years old.

While Ben Shephard normally takes the reins, a major line-up change saw Gordon present on Thursday and Friday last week.

And after appearing alongside Charlotte, she took to social media to praise his debut, while suggesting he could be a more permanent fixture.
