Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the long jump and Olympic star reflected on his many reality TV show appearances, such as his time on Strictly Come Dancing and his Celebrity MasterChef win. When asked if he would add to this by going on ITV favourite I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! the 35-year-old explained whether or not he thinks he has what it takes.

Former long jumper Greg has represented Great Britain at the Olympics, World and European Championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games.

He also took part in the 2016 series of Strictly Come Dancing, although he called his dance skills “c**p”.

Topping off his accolades, Greg was crowned winner of Celebrity MasterChef 2019.

With so many of Britain’s favourite shows under his belt, could the athlete take part in ITV staple I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!?

Speaking to Express.co.uk, he was asked this very question, and seemed to consider the idea before deciding.

“I mean, it’s so extreme, that one, isn’t it?” He commented. “And I previously said no, I won’t.

“Just because I’ve spoken to lots of people who have been on it, and you get obviously brutally hungry.

“There’s creepy crawlies – so I used to have pet rats as a kid, so rats don’t bother me, snakes don’t bother me, bugs don’t bother me particularly.

“But they’re constantly around you, crawling on you, all of that sort of stuff.

“I have kids, so obviously I don’t sleep that much anyway but no sleep and being hungry…

“I think there’s a chance that people would see the worst side of me, which is not me, but when I’m very hungry and very tired, it happens, doesn’t it?

“I always worry about how I’d be. So, I don’t know, probably not. I think I’ve exhausted most of those avenues now!

“And I am just happy doing other things, maybe not something like that.”

However, Greg has enjoyed the competition shows he has previously taken part it.

Although he laughed about his experience on BBC favourite Strictly, he doesn’t regret having taken part.

On the show, he was paired with Natalie Lowe, and the pair came in ninth place.

While reminiscing over what he loved about being on the glitzy seasonal show, he stated: “It was absolutely mind-blowing.

“And was just generally an incredible experience and some of the people that I met on there, I have become friends for life with.

“In particular Rob Rinder who is a very, very close and important part of my life now.

“He’s a hugely important part of my life and that is an amazing thing as well.

“I don’t think our paths would have crossed unless we did that [Strictly].

“And he has been such a positive influence. So that for me is one of the biggest takeaways from it.

“Somebody like me and Rob, as close as we become. That is an amazing thing.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
