Alex (Liam Boyle) – Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) drug dealing ex – was left to die after being hit by a car in Thursday’s (March 30) edition of Emmerdale.
The dodgy character had spent the past few weeks planning to steal medication from the surgery, something he had cooked up with his real girlfriend, Clare, and not Naomi (Karene Peter) – who he’s pretending to be in a relationship with.
Using Naomi has allowed Alex to get closer to Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and eventually discover the lock combination to open the drugs cupboard.
So, with everything in place, all Alex had to do was pack his bags full of the gear and leave.
Simple, right?
Wrong.
Sat in his car, Alex was spotted by Charles (Kevin Mathurin) who needed a lift into town.
Charles had some things to carry so he went to the boot of Alex’s car and, to his horror, found all the drugs.
Charles chased after Alex and because of the way the episode played out, we were led to believe that the vicar would go on to be responsible for knocking Alex down in his car.
Meanwhile, as all of this was unfolding, Dawn and Billy (Jay Kontzle) had been given the wonderful news that they can become Clemmie’s legal guardians, and Billy can adopt Lucas.
After returning home, Billy headed out to get dinner – and it was during this drive that he hit Alex, who had stepped into the road while on the phone to Clare.
Billy told Dawn everything and they headed back to the scene, spotting police and an ambulance.
With Alex on the way to hospital, Billy and Dawn were left wondering two things.
Will he survive?
And if he does, will he remember that Billy knocked him down, and use that to get revenge?
