Hollyoaks confirms mammoth Rayne and Peri twist and our jaws are on the floor

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (September 27) episode that is now available to stream on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Thursday September 28 at 7pm.

Rayne Royce’s (Jemma Donovan) death has sent shockwaves through the eponymous village, with the influencer having been murdered by one of the many residents that she antagonised.

The social media star had no shortage of enemies, and with her sordid secrets having been revealed during her luxury party, which was streamed online, one of those scorned enemies took deadly revenge.

Everyone in attendance at the party was subsequently questioned by the police, with Brent Taylor (Jesse Fox) being arrested for the murder after an item was found in his car linking him to the suspicious death.

Wednesday’s streaming episode picked up the following day, with all the potential suspects allowed to return home. Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) struggled to process Rayne’s death and, despite the abuse and torment she caused him, he made it clear that he still loved her.

Lacey Lloyd (Annabelle Davis), meanwhile, was heartbroken by Rayne’s passing, recalling their final words to Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea), who confided in her girlfriend about how Rayne had duped her into parting with Rafe Harcourt’s (Chris Gordon) cash to pay for the manor.

In a bid to find out if Rayne was really out of pocket like she claimed, Lacey assisted Nadira in gaining access to the influencer’s laptop and made a shocking discovery in the process.

A video of a shy Rayne from when she was a child popped up on the screen. In the clip, Rayne was auditioning for a play, but she was being bullied by another girl, who said hurtful things, leaving her in tears.

Hollyoaks is on the move! Here’s how to watch

Hollyoaks has a brand new schedule to better reflect viewing habits of TV audiences today.

The show will no longer air on Channel 4. Instead, viewers can get their daily fix on the station’s streaming platform, formerly known as 4OD and All4, weeknights at 7:30pm.

If streaming isn’t your thing or maybe you simply prefer to watch on TV then you can catch the show weeknights at 7pm on E4.

The girl in question was none other than a young Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and consider us absolutely stunned.

‘Peri was Rayne’s bully!’, exclaimed a horrified Nadira, putting two and two together.

This discovery of course changes everything. Rayne was evidently aware of Peri’s presence in the village, which is likely why she went out of her way to make her life a living hell.

Peri, however, presumably did not know who Rayne was when she turned up in the village earlier this year.

Will this video perhaps lead to Peri becoming the prime suspect? Will Peri be able to prove her innocence? And what will Romeo make of the discovery?

Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV weeknights at 7pm on E4.
