Hollyoaks rivals hate saying horrible lines to each other due to close bond

Hollyoaks star Richard Blackwood has revealed he "hates" saying "horrible lines" to his on-screen rival Jamie Lomas.

Feix Westwood and Warren Fox spent most of their childhood in a care home and came face-to-face in 2020 after years apart.

Bad boy Warren, played by Jamie, was left gobsmacked at first when Richard's character Felix turned up in the village.

It came to light that Felix was bullied by Warren in their younger years but the pair have since turned a corner and appear to be getting along.

Speaking about Felix's on-off friendship with Warren, Richard told Daily Star: "It's a weird one because myself and Jamie [Lomas] get along very well so when it's time for us to be rivals, we can play that with the trust of knowing how far we can go and push the line.

"When we're saying the horrible lines to each other, we actually hate saying the lines because we get along so well.

"But that kind of helps with the scene as well because anytime there is a rivalry between us two, we also have to play the truth that they genuinely love each other as brothers so they are always torn between wrong to the other person."

When asked if he preferred Felix being friendly with Warren or being at each others throats, Richard said: "There is always that underbelly that plays out between us.

"I like the rivalry but I always hate the bad lines we say to each other."

Felix has waved goodbye to several family members over the last two years and actor Richard says he would love to see some of his character's nearest and dearest return in the future.

"Discussing the potential comeback of Felix's ex Martine Deveruax (Kellé Bryan) and their son Toby Faroe (Bobby Gordon), the soap star said: "Yeah, It would be nice for the audience but it's got to be the truth to the story.

"Sometimes we don't want the show to be audience-led because sometimes the audience don't really know what the want.

"It's emotionally driven so it still has to make sense otherwise its a wasted character.

"The place to be is them wanting you back opposed to you coming back and say 'that was a waste'.
