LOVE Island star Jaques O'Neill has opened up on his troubled family life after his father "took off" and left unexpectedly.
The professional rugby league star opened up to close friend, former Love Island star Scott Thomas, for his Learning About Judgement podcast.
Jacques laid bare his emotion on a variety of subjects, before talk turned to his childhood.
The Castleford Tigers hooker told the PR guru: "We were moving to a foreign country. My dad was still around, my mum was suffering bad with depression.
"We were all ready to move abroad and get out of England and one day Dad just took off without us and my mum, with three children it was so hard.
"My mum, I don’t know how she did it.

When he took off mum tried to reach out, needed help, my nan and grandad had to send food because we literally had nothing.
We moved house every year because we couldn’t stay in the same house, we had bailiffs at the house, we were always floating around.
He concluded: "I don’t want anything to do with [his dad] I never would."
Jacques, a professional rugby player, dramatically quit Love Island following the Casa Amor week, following a partnership with Paige Thorne.

Recently, the rugby player broke down in tears as he spoke of his mum's reaction to vile death threats from trolls.
The reality star's voice cracked and he wiped away tears as he recalled a heartbreaking conversation he had with his mother once he had left the villa.
Talking to his close friend, former Love Island star Scott Thomas, for his Learning About Judgement podcast, Jacques said: "The hardest thing was… sorry, mate.
"Just seeing my mum, how she was. Seeing her in a state.
"I couldn't even leave the house…"
When asked exactly what his mum Janet was struggling with, Jacques replied: "The death threats, man."
He continued: "When I got home, she went, 'Jacques, we can't go out. We can't go out. Like, everyone hates you'.
