I was on Love Island – heres how to charm bosses and get on the show

Molly Marsh has revealed what goes on behind-the-scenes during the search for new Love Islanders and the steps she had to follow to land a spot in the villa.

The reality TV star and social media influencer, 22, made it to the final of this year's series, with her now boyfriend Zachariah Noble, and has since gone on to continue her social media stardom.

Molly has now joined a string of other ex-islanders, including Samie Elishi and Molly-Mae Hague, in turning her talents to vlogging, as she shared throwback clips filmed during the Love Island audition process.

In her new video, Molly revealed that show bosses had contacted her management to suggest that she apply for the next summer series.

However, when she was first approached by bosses, Molly had a boyfriend and said she wasn't interesting in joining the show – something that changed after she and the aforementioned boyfriend split up.

She sent off an application for the show on 21 March and was invited for a Zoom audition just eight days later, for which she donned a "beach look."

Speaking at the time, Molly said: "I'm not letting myself get too giddy, because we shouldn't but this is very good for my mindset right now!'"

Six days after her Zoom audition, Molly was told she would be undergoing background checks, as she explained: 'I've received three forms I need to send back ASAP – one is a health questionnaire, one is a criminal record check and one is more information about my dating history, past, what I'm looking for and really in-depth questions which is so exciting.

"It's literally making me feel sick because I'm so excited, but I don't want to get too excited, so many emotions right now. The show starts in just two months time, I'm so excited and I want to do it so bad."

Going further along the process, Molly has revealed that on April 11, she had been invited to complete a social media check, which aimed to uncover any controversial social media posts.

After passing these checks, Molly headed to an in-person audition with Love Island's executive producers.

She explained: 'I went and met a guy from casting, he just sat and spoke to me, checking that if I get on the show am I happy with being called Molly, how I feel after the show, if successful today when I will hear back, all these little things just checking up, management, what I do for work.

'He was lovely, then sat again on my own, another 20 minutes went by and I went into a room with two [producers]. There was a camera there and I just spoke and chatted away about me, dating, literally about life, didn't look at the camera, ignored it, literally just spoke about so many topics.

"And then at the end she got me to stand up and she panned the camera from my feet all the way to my head, blew a little kiss, and then she did one more time and then I left."

Following this, she then underwent medical checks, after which she was told she had reached the final stage of auditions.

After getting through the final stages, Molly then jetted off to Mallorca, just two weeks before she entered the iconic villa.
