GMB: Nigel Farage rumoured for I’m A Celeb

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! fans are threatening to “boycott” the ITV series when it makes a return next month.

Some fans claimed they won’t watch the upcoming series after it was reported Nigel Farage was entering the jungle.

While ITV is keeping tight-lipped about this year’s line-up, the rumour mill has been circulating and Farage is among the big names tipped to be taking part.

However, fans have taken to social media in droves to share their thoughts on the move, with @HausOfDylan95 tweeting: “Having Nigel Farage on #ImACeleb isn’t going to be the win ITV think it is, he’s more likely to drive viewers away IMO.” (sic)

@Lloydmichael66 fumed: “What a waste of money.”

“Another reason not to watch,” one fan said as @TraceyLacey19 pleaded: “Well I won’t be watching then. Please could you forget to bring him back?”

@artsngrafts stated: “All talks of Nigel Farage possibly being in I’m A Celeb this year? Yet another politician. My god, they don’t even try to hide that they’re laughing at us anymore.”

While @BaloneyBack @imacelebrity added: “I have watched every show, if this happens kiss me goodbye as a viewer.”

Other fans disagreed with @ponting_steven tweeting: “Worth watching for once then lol.”

On Sunday, it was reported that the former Brezit Party leader was in “advanced talks” ti ITV over a potential deal.

According to The Sun, ITV could offer Farage “up to £1million” to join the series.

A TV insider told the publication: “Nigel has been at the top of the wish-list for I’m A Celeb bosses for years.

“They’ve offered him a huge fee as they know he’ll drive up viewing figures. Ant and Dec will love this signing.

“Nigel’s the ultimate Marmite character and won’t hold back in camp discussions.”

Farag is yet to confirm or deny the rumours, but on his GB News show last year, he said: “I have been approached several times by I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and I’ve always ruled it out.

“I’ve never thought it would be a good thing to do. I thought it was all rather humiliating, frankly. But I suppose you can never ever say never.”
