JULIA Morris has taken swipe at her ex-husband Dan Thomas as she revealed the real reason they split after 16 years.

The Australian I'm A Celeb host recently parted ways with her partner – devastating fans as the two comedians appeared to be in it for the long haul.


Julia wedded Welsh-born Dan on New Year's Eve in 2005 but has now spilled that the marriage became "super sad".

The 55-year-old woman told Stellar Magazine the divorce was a long time coming.

She said: "Let's just say I wasn't married to the person I thought I was.

"I have become an Olympic medallist in running him down.

"But to be honest, I have been trying to stop doing that because I don't want to let him into my life at all anymore.

"I'm free."

The revelation comes after the much-loved TV host announced their divorce in May last year.

She added: "Unfortunately, I've had my eyes opened and I've had a big awakening about my people pleasing and what I will tolerate and how I see the best in people – and that's not always the truth.

"I'm famous for saying I feel like every year we're going to break up.

"But it definitely gets to that same point, which is that we are just not necessarily growing in the same direction."

In a separate interview, the presenter told Women's Weekly she saw her ex-husband as a pest.

She said: "I think that's where patience starts to wear down to.

"How is this an example for my girls that this is an okay life to lead."

Julia is a mum-of-two and lives with her daughters Ruby, 16, and Sophie, 14.

The comedian claimed she learnt more parenting skills in the process.

She added: "Now I've got to download permission slips from school.

"And I've never worked in an office – I've taught myself all that stuff."

It comes after Julia shocked fans when she announced she was "no longer interested in sex".
