It was revealed this morning that Love Island star Olivia Atwood had left the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp just 24 hours after her arrival. She appeared in the last night’s episode and skydived out of a helicopter on her arrival alongside campmate DJ Chris Moyles, however, she was forced to pull out of the show due to medical grounds. She has since opened up about her exit from the show and expressed that she will be back on viewers’ screens in the New Year.

Taking to her Instagram account to explain why she had to pull out of the show, Olivia wrote: “To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement.

“She dreamed of doing I’m A Celeb for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into the jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).

“However, for reasons beyond her control, her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

“You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year.

“P.S Who is going to roast Matt Hancock now?”

Olivia’s short stint in the camp has recorded the joint shortest stay in the show’s 20-year history, alongside Gimme Gimme Gimme actress Elaine Lordan.

Before being forced out of the jungle on medical grounds, Olivia was able to take part in the first set of challenges which led her and her fellow campmates to their camp.

She was taken up in a helicopter alongside DJ Chris Moyles where the pair jumped and skydived down.

Before jumping, Olivia gave herself a little pep talk and joked: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“Just need to get back on safe ground in one piece, [with] both boobs, all the [dental] veneers, everything.”

As her feet touched the solid ground once again, she declared: “Oh my god I’m crying, that’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever done, ever.

“That is incredible. Top 10 experiences of my life. Just amazing.”

Taking in her surroundings, she added: “I didn’t expect to be landing on a beach – where the hell are we?”

As Chris joined her on the ground, he said: “I’m so happy to be on the ground. Seriously, I’ll eat a sheep’s anus any day rather than do that again.”

Olivia had struck up a lovely relationship with Chris before they headed into the jungle, with the pair having similar banter.

In the villa where the 10 contestants had met and were setting off for their first challenges, Chris and Olivia received some information.

Chris read: “Olivia and Chris, we hope you enjoyed your meal. It’s now time to begin your journey into camp and as VIPs, you’re going to get a taste of the high life by jumping out of a chopper at 10,000ft.”

He turned to Olivia and joked: “You take me for a prawn and then in a helicopter – you’re a s*** date.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! airs daily from 9pm on ITV.
