With ITV’sI’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! back on our screens on Sunday 19 November,a whole new host of celebrities are getting ready to swap their day-to-day lives for bushtucker trials and a diet of rice and beans.
Among those, is former UKIP leaderNigel Farage, with one political expert claiming that Nigel’s stint on the show could allow him to “connect with a new generation” while also making him a “man of the people”.
Speaking tobettingsites.co.uk, political expert Matt Goodwin claimed that the politician’s time Down Under is a “unique opportunity” for 59 year old Nigel to connect with viewers, and voters, at home.
“I suspect he will connect with a new audience. He's already big on things like TikTok, he's already quite well known among Generation Z and he will be going into this thinking, ‘I've got a unique opportunity to raise the visibility of my brand, to connect with a new generation of voters, to show an older generation of voters that I wasn't really what the media said I was’,” he said.
Matt added that I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! could allow Nigel, who has already been seen covered in gunge, to begin “something new” once the show comes to an end.
“And also to be ‘man of the people’. If he does well, you know if he takes it on the chin, if he has a good laugh and if he comes across in an authentic way, explains to people why he holds the views that he holds, and why he cares about the country and why he thinks it’s going down the drain,” he continued.
“There is a unique opportunity here for Farage to come out to say, ‘okay you've seen me in real life, you’ve seen what I'm like now I want to continue this journey and start something new’.”
Nigel won’t be the only star looking to win over viewers at home. Among him in the jungle are nine other campmates who will be hoping to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.
Among those joining the 2023 line-up are: actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, soap stars Nick Pickard and Danielle Harold, This Morning host Josie Gibson, First Date’s Fred Sirieix, YouTuber Nella Rose, Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, JLS singer Marvin Humes and food critic Grace Dentwhose tweets about Nigel have resurfaced ahead of the show’s launch.
