Inside the life of Hollyoaks star Parry Glasspool who quit show to become personal trainer

Fans will know him best for portraying teenage hunk Harry Thompson in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, but star Parry Glasspool couldn’t be further from his onscreen alter-ego after leaving behind stardom to embark on a new career.

The 31 year old actor, who originally hails from Worcestershire, took on the role of Tony Hutchinson’s estranged son Harry for four years between 2015 and 2019, and even earned himself a coveted nomination at the National Television Awards for Best Newcomer the year he made his soap debut.

However, after the character was killed off in 2019, Parry decided to pursue other roles, including a stint in the theatre, when he performed in By The Waters of Liverpool.

Unfortunately, the production was due to tour around the same time that Covid-19 hit the country, meaning the show had to be suspended after just two weeks of production.

After a brief hiatus, Parry then returned to our screens with a guest part in Emmerdale back in 2022, when he starred as Jason Denshaw, the drug dealer of both Jai Sharma and Leyla Harding.

Although Parry continues to take acting roles on, it isn’t his only source of income, as the fitness loving star also went on to train to be a qualified personal trainer and even launched his own business PG Fitness to help others get in shape.

Currently qualified as a level two fitness instructor, the former Hollyoaks star recently revealed to his followers on social media that he was working towards his level 3 qualification to help enhance the training and advice he could offer to clients.

Alongside his personal training, Parry has also been eager to show off the results of his own fitness regime, with the happy and healthy star regularly showing off his impressive physique on Instagram.

In several snaps the star can be seen sporting a lean six pack and toned arms, but also keeps things real by showing before and after shots of how he has achieved his fitness goals – something which doesn’t magically happen overnight.

In one recent snap, the star captioned his before and after selfie: "What we have here is a much needed short-term body tune-up! These were taken less than a month apart.

"As you can see, there's not a big difference, but then, big changes weren't made. Just small tweaks in diet (mainly less alcohol) and training with a purpose made me look and feel 10x healthier.

"Even if it's just feeling happier or more comfortable in your own skin. It's important to celebrate the little wins now and again!”

In another photo, Parry also showed off a number of red marks on his chest after suffering a few injuries while weight training, again showing the reality of regular exercise that people don’t always seen on social media.

This time he captioned the image: "I'm definitely hitting my stride again after training without a plan or purpose for the last couple of years. When I finally sort my diet out, watch this space.

"Sorry to anyone expecting 2015 levels of 'thottery'. Those days are gone!

"On a sidenote, I'm not sure how I got so beat up lifting weights…I really am made of paper."

When he's not busy training clients or acting on screen, Parry can mostly be found with his fiancée Paije Love and their adorable daughter Efa, who was born back in 2021.

Cheekily dubbing her "Efa the Beefa" not long after her birth, Parry delightedly made the most of weight training with the youngster as he carried and cuddled her while getting to grips with life as a new dad.
